Date Oat Bars
I coached all weekend and was looking at the girls lunches and seeing what they were eating to fuel themselves. Some had bought protein bars and loads had rice cakes. So I thought I’d make some bars that would be good to keep you fueled for long training days 💪🏻😀
Date Oat bars Ingredients📍
2 cups oats
250grams of dates
2 tbsp of chia seeds
2 tsp of baking soda
2 tbsp of agave nectar
2 cups of water
Recipe📍
Preheat oven to gas mark 4 and line a baking tin with parchment paper
Chop dates and add to pot with water and simmer until mixture thickens and dates become soft about 15 mins
Add baking soda ( it will bubble- that’s okay😂)
Add oats, chia seeds and agave syrup and mix and stir
Place mixture in tin and cook for about 35 minutes
Cut bars and allow to cool
Drizzle 85* choc over and decorate with whatever nuts you have! I chose almonds and walnuts 🌰
